iPhone customers receive free WiFi SMS from AT&T

iPhone customers have been receiving SMS messages from AT&T advertising free WiFi at Starbucks. The SMS reads:

"AT&T Free Msg: Your Apple iPhone now has free AT&T Wi-Fi access at thousands of hotspots nationwide, including Starbucks*. For info visit www.att.com/attwifi"

The program has actually been running on and off since April giving users 2 hours of free WiFi. Is this the official announcement?
