Could Steve Jobs really be considering an iPhone with a slide out keyboard? According to the iPhone Blog he is. According to the rumor Mr. Jobs is shopping the idea with operators and asking for feedback. Not only that but rumor has it that actual prototype phones have been made.
Could we see the iSlider in the future? Perhaps, but at this point it's just a rumor.

A German supermarket chain has introduced a new way to checkout your items. In the new chain of stores, customers can pay for their purchases with a specially adapted mobile telephone.
"The Future Store" was recently opened near Duesseldorf. Customers pick up a specially adapted phone when they come to the store. BlackBerry sales outpaced Apple Inc.'s iPhone in U.S. first-quarter sales accoring to research done by IDC.
The report shows that the RIM's BlackBerry jumped up from 35.1% of the US market in Q4 of last year, to 44.5 % in Q1 2008. At the same time, the iPhone's U.S. market share dropped from 26.7% to 19.2%.

The rumor mill is churning again with pictures of the upcoming 3G iPhone. The French iPhone Blog has published pictures of what they claim is the upcoming 3G iPhone. T-Mobile is preparing to ship its first cell phones based on Google's Android operating system this year. The release of the gPhone is expected to bring an "avalanche of innovation from users - and radical changes to what customers expect and demand."

According to a report in the Financial Times, Apple is in discussions with some large music companies about a deal that would give customers free access to the entire iTunes library. Customers would pay a premium for iPods and iPhones to get the unlimted service.
The "all you can eat" model seems to follow Nokia’s "comes with music" deal that they made with Universal Music last year.
The Financial Times says the sticking point is how much Apple will pay the record labels for the access.

According to recent patent filings it looks like Apple is looking past its current candy bar iPhone design to a future that may include an iPhone flip design. It looks like the iPhone has made a pretty good impression in Korea. According to a recent poll of 590 CEOs conducted by the Samsung Economic Research Institute, 26.4 percent of respondents chose the iPhone as the no. 1 item of inspiration among devices included in Time Magazine's "Inventions of 2007" list.
